Finasteride Tablet

Finpecia 1 mg Tablets contain finasteride, a medication primarily used to treat male pattern hair loss (androgenetic alopecia).

• Male Pattern Baldness: Finasteride is used to treat hair loss in men by preventing further hair loss and promoting hair regrowth, particularly at the crown and the middle of the scalp.
• Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH): Although typically in higher doses (5 mg), finasteride is also used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia, a non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate, but Finpecia (1 mg) is specifically for hair loss treatment.

Finasteride works by inhibiting the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase, which converts testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is a hormone linked to hair loss in men and also contributes to prostate growth. By lowering DHT levels in the scalp, finasteride helps to reduce hair loss and may promote regrowth.

• Standard Dosage: The recommended dose for treating male pattern baldness is 1 mg once daily.
• Administration: The tablet can be taken with or without food, and it's important to take it regularly to see the desired effects, usually after 3 to 6 months of continuous use.

Common side effects may include:
